Are you interested in state history or the legislative process? Take an on-site tour of the CT State Capitol and Legislative Office Buildings. Can’t make it in person? Then take the 3D Virtual Tour and experience the building from the comfort of your home. Anywhere you can access internet, you can access the tour.
The League of Women Voters of Connecticut Education Fund has run Capitol Information and tours under the sponsorship of the Joint Committee on Legislative Management of the Connecticut General Assembly since 1971.
Over 33,000 Guided Tours are provided each year to people of all ages, Third grade to Senior Citizens.
The Connecticut State Capitol Building
The Connecticut State Capitol was declared a national historical landmark by the United States Department of Interior in 1972.
Overlooking Hartford’s 41 acre Bushnell Memorial Park, the Connecticut State Capitol first opened for the General Assembly in January, 1879.

Learn the history of the Capitol, a National Historic Landmark.
View items important to Connecticut history, including statues of Connecticut State Hero Nathan Hale, Prudence Crandall, Civil War Governor Buckingham and the “Genius of Connecticut”. Visit the Hall of Flags, where flags carried into battle by Connecticut soldiers are displayed. Learn about the legislative process while viewing the House and Senate Chamber.
